Beer oriented venue Friday night (17th) or Sunday anytime (19th)

C'mon, let's show Phoenix up! I'm thinking 1702, Nimbus, Thunder Canyon brewery or something similar. On Sunday 1702 is closed, but I might be able to get the back room Friday night. My husband and I have been here for over a year and would love to meet some new people. If anyone has a better suggestion, I'm all ears! There are probably some near places I've never even heard.

I could probably do a Sunday night thing, but I'll have to wait and see as to my availability Friday. SO and I were planning to hit up the LA meetup on Saturday, but those plans could change. (can't multiple attendance post so consider this my maybe)

Friday and Saturday are the best days for me right now. Thunder Canyon is a good choice, I think, but I've never been to 1702. Nimbus is all right, but it's my least favorite of the three. I'll suggest Fox and Hound, too, because they upstairs there they have couches and lounge chairs setup, along with tables.

Hi, Tucsonans! I think this is a wonderful idea, but let me make sure I'm in the right month. June, right? Isn't Friday the 19th, and Sunday the 21st? A solstice meetup?

I can do a Sunday, but I work Friday evenings. I'll keep an eye on this, but I would love to meet a bunch of mefites in person.

So what's the story here fellow desert rats? I'd be happy with Thunder Canyon, haven't been there in years but I have fond memories. Everybody still go? I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Argh! I have to do the Monday obits for the newspaper that day, and it conveniently starts at 4:00 pm. If they call me earlier, or I get them done fast enough, I'll try to get up there.

I was just at Thunder Canyon yesterday and noticed that had a "recession" special that started after 7pm on Sunday for $2 pints and cheap food. Would it be worth it change the time to 7 to take advantage of cheaper beer? Or would another time be more convenient?

It is officially changed to 7pm. I emailed the mods to change the time, and I memailed anyone who expressed interest in the thread. Don't forget, with such a small crowd, we'll be able to have several rounds on metafilter!
