July 18th - Africa celebrates MetaFilter's 10th.

There are no other MetaFilter members nearby, sorry.

You think that's gonna stop us? This is Africa, man. Let it not be said the great anniversary passed silently here.

Time: 10pm - Sunrise
Venue: Havana's Bar - off Westlands Mall in Westlands, Nairobi

I'm seeking no funds for this party, drinks are on me for any MeFite who makes it there. I'm only hoping to procure a MeFi tee-shirt in good time for the party so you'll know which crazy to look for in the place. Otherwise its gonna be me preaching MeFi to my friends and random strangers. Don't let that happen.

I would love to come drink with you, akot. Unfortunately not this time. Seems like I will be spending the 10th weekend with a pack of wolves in Yellowstone.
If I ever get a chance to do some fieldwork in Mpala, we should totally throw the biggest Mefi meetup Nairobi has ever seen.

Ah, I'm going to be in West Turkana digging up fossils. I'll be in Nairobi in mid June and early August if you want to postpone and/or celebrate early!

We are practically neighbours. I am in Durban, South Africa, where there is, too, a dearth of Mefites, alas.

Actually, I was born in Nairobi many years ago. It is such a pity that I won't be able to make this one.

Definitely can't make it over there this summer (though the next one...), but a beer will be raised and tilted toward your general direction in Burkina Faso for MeFi and the party I'll be missing!
