Man. I wish! But think I'll be traveling and not able to make any of them that weekend. posted by and hosted from Uranus at 8:53 AM on May 19, 2009
Ooo... there's already a heck of a lot of planning going for the DC meetup on the same night. posted by zennie at 8:09 AM on May 20, 2009
Yeah, I actually live in Silver Spring, but am attending (and would prefer to attend) the DC meetup. But then again I am not a pirate and although I live only 2 blocks away would not venture into Piratz Tavern (a.) I am bothered by the Z and b) I have an irrational fear of historical re-enactors; I consider waiters dressed in costume a branch off the same tree.
But really as zennie mentioned, I think that this is going to be a hard sell since most interested locals will probably opt for the DC meetup. posted by kaybdc at 12:41 PM on May 29, 2009
I have an irrational fear of historical re-enactors;
It's ok. Faint of Butt is literally Blackbeard Reincarnate. posted by and hosted from Uranus at 1:11 PM on May 29, 2009
I keep missing out on the Piratz meetups. :p Wish it were a different night. posted by zennie at 10:29 PM on May 29, 2009
How about Mayorga on a different date? A little less, um, intense. posted by Red58 at 10:45 AM on June 4, 2009

Most pirates can't spell.

No servers at Piratz Tavern are dressed in costumes. The bodices, bandannas and boots are what they'd wear every day if society didn't demand otherwise. posted by Faint of Butt at 9:30 AM on June 7, 2009
In all honesty, folks, I'm really just trying to get more MeFites into the Tavern. It's a great place and deserves your business. If you come on July 18th, I'll be performing, and I've got enough clout that I'll probably be able to get you some good discounts on the drinks. Admin reminder: this meetup is going to be removed from the site tomorrow because the deadline for confirming the date, time, and location has passed. Please contact us with the details if you'd like to move this meetup from planning to scheduled. posted by pb at 9:59 PM on July 8, 2009
Is this meet-up still on? I'm trying to decide which meet-up to attend... am currently in Baltimore, but will be in NY from July 16-17 and I don't have a car. So my options are: DC, NY or this (if it's still happening?) and I'm trying to figure out which one's the most convenient (and will cost the least $$)...aah! posted by aielen at 7:50 AM on July 9, 2009
