Edinburgh Planning Thread

We need to pick a date and time between July 17 and July 19 and a location.

The 18th is a Saturday, which sounds best to me, unless there are objections. I'm new (really new) to Edinburgh so any suggestions for locations are appreciated. If the weather's nice, perhaps somewhere outdoors?

Saturday sounds best for me, since I'd be coming up from Newcastle. Sunday would probably work too, but Friday would be more difficult. Unfortunately, I don't have a good suggestion for a venue...

If the weather's good, the garden in the Pear Tree might work? Depends how many people turn up ...

I'm not sure if I'll be around then, but with any luck...
If you're thinking of the daytime, the botanical gardens might be nice for a picnic or something. I'm a bit out of touch with places to go in the evening!

Hey, I'd be up for it, really glad to see Edinburgh appear on here! Agree that the Pear Tree would make sense in the hope that it might be sunny - and possibly not too packed as we'll be in the window between students leaving and the festival starting. I'm flexible on the date.
