Questions/comments about lodging

Miss Tizzie did a bit of internet legwork (see here for original comment), and she found some fairly cheap rooms at The Pelham Hotel. A few of us have already booked rooms there. But if that's not your cup of tea, she was also able to find rooms at several other French Quarter and French Quarter adjacent hotels for less than $100 a night.

Beware, though. Sometimes these hotels have crazy parking fees ($40 a night is not unheard of), so make sure to ask.

Actually it seems like $25 was the standard - which is not cheap, so definitely ask.

Incidentally, I opted to stay over on party-night at The Columns. They have a lot of rooms available at the "summer rate" of $128/night which, while not cheapie cheap is not omg awful. Some of them have multiple beds in-room.

Alright - lodging and transport question. The Pelham seems to have pretty good rates (~60/night), but I'm planning on taking the train down there from Memphis, rather than driving, and would like to avoid renting a car if possible. How difficult will it be for me to get where I need to go for all of our festivities?

OK, bookings made. I'm in the Pelham on the Friday night, and the Columns on the Saturday night (I like the idea of staggering upstairs after the meetup...)
