What it is that keeps people from having to awkwardly talk to the person next to them they only know as "Snuggle359"

I thought about making this it's own topic, but wasn't sure it warrants one. So if this is in bad form, please merge it with another topic..

Anyways..

If facilities are available, and being such a MetaFilter hit that will hopefully be remembered in another 10 years, even if just here since it remains the most favorited track of all time.. I would love a chance to world premiere the music video for "Punch 'Em In The Dick", it has been a long long work in progress. The editing and everything is in the hands of a busy student who works two jobs and goes to school, and being a music video requires a whole lot of editing so it's been a long time. We shot it in March, and just about now have a rough draft. Hopefully by then it'll be finished and someone else can post it to MetaFilter main page, however if possible, anyone at the Portland gathering can see it before everyone else. If people really are interested, a full on performance by Juicy Karkass, myself, and our crewmate Savior is also possible.

Great idea? Or audaciously egomaniacal?

Oh god, that would be super awesome if we could somehow do this. I guess just a blank wall, a projector, and a laptop is all that is needed, right?

Audaciously egomaniacal. But I guess I wouldn't mind seeing the video if there's projector stuff going on at the meetup.

I have to ask, were any dicks harmed in the creation of the video?

Well I know that East Burn's Annex has audio/visual capabilities. I just don't know who tot alk to about using them, should I contact the place directly? Or should I try to reach whomever is talking with them from MetaFilter?

Since our ex-organizer Dersins isn't able to make the meetup, I'd suggest you just get in touch with Cortex about it- I think he was going to look into what the space had available for us.

This is completely unrelated to anything, but I just rode the STP, and thinking that I *may* not be able to make it to the party next week, I talked my "cycling team" (i.e. "beer drinking buddies") into going to East Burn yesterday. Holy mother of jesus, that was easily the best burger I have ever had.

So anyway, I drove back up to Seattle last night and immediately asked my wife for a divorce so that when I return to East Burn next weekend I can ask it to marry me, for I am in love.

I dropped a line to the event organizer at East Burn about AV stuff, asking what exactly will be available to us.

I'd say that (a) we'll have a projector one way or the other since I can bring my own if they don't have one, and (b) a video is probably fine whereas a live performance would probably be a logistical nightmare especially with a likely very-packed room.
