Beijing meetup planning thread

There aren't many of us here in Beijing, but since our last little meetups went so well...

...how about another one?

I think some of us know each other IRL, and live in more or less the same area, so how about doing something around the Gulou/Nan Luogu Xiang area? Open to suggestions/discussions, etc. And hell, we could invite non-MeFi'ers and make it a general party -- any excuse.

My profile lists Beijing but I will be in the States for the whole month of July (and not near any meetups there, either). If there's another get-together either before or after July, I'm game. Have fun.

Hey, the duck -- are you coming for the eclipse? May run into you down by Shanghai, if so.

Hawkeye -- sorry to hear it. I'm sure we'll have something going after July too; at any rate abiezer and I can usually be found in the same bar near Nan Luogu Xiang.

If any of you have video chat on your laptops. you could check in with some of the stateside meetups. Looks like it will be Sat the 18 by consensus. Prime time over here might average around 2pm to 2am Eastern Standard Time. 10pm or 11pm over here, would be those same hours Sunday morning for you, and you know some of you will out to breakfast together anyway.

You only need two people to make your appearance as international online meetup delagates.
Just flip on your webcam and say hello.

Sadly I'll be in mid-air at the time of the meet-up, but I'd definitely like to come to any other Beijing meet-ups in the future.
