Saturday 18th July, Evening Dinner and other Saturday plans

Saturday Evening Dinner We need to pick a place and a type of food. And possibly pubs before and after too...

I've suggested a curry at The Lahore Kebab House. This could perhaps be supplemented by a pub in the neighbourhood beforehand, and indeed afterward. Any visiting MeFites coming from other parts of the UK or Europe may even want to consider lunch/wandering around somewhere in London together earlier in the day.

Wow Mrs Mutant & I will come to the Saturday evening dinner instead of the picnic, as we live right around the corner from Lahore. We'd also suggest The Mad George as an appropriate after dinner drink.

We've spent far too many evenings in that place, they've usually got bands and performance art and freaks so should be a good place to repair to.

They also have an outdoor seating area, should anyone wish to continue chatting.

This being just up the road from me, there is no way I'm not coming to this...

I also second the George as a decent post-curry venue, crazy place that it is.

That George place looks rather excellent - we've always struggled to find a good place round there for post-Lahore pints, and generally end up wandering back up Brick Lane, but that looks like a far better option.

Scratch that. I definitely won't be attending this now as I got my dates mixed up with another event. But I'll probably go to the Friday drink instead.

Thought I would be here, but accommodation didn't work out and I had to take the train back to Cambridge after the Friday night meetup, Argh. Will be with you in spirit, eating curry in spirit. On second thoughts, maybe curry in spirits isn't such a good idea.

Curious as well! We don't see The George lifting off much before 9PM, so maybe a 7PM start to the feeding?

Also seems like we've got four confirmed? I'd like to bake something, but not being sure of the numbers complicates matters a little as I must bring enough for everyone.

I'm going to suggest that we meet in the George from 6.30 onwards, and head over the restaurant at about seven-ish, once we've all assembled. For anybody arriving late, my number is (excuse the obfuscation) zero triple-seven three, nine one four seven nine five.

Great meeting you folks this evening! Marielle & I wandered about London's East End for a while after leaving The George, a place known as 'Copper Mine' oh my what a time!

Very sad I missed this one, but I'd been at the Lambeth County Fair all day drinking Chucklehead, and would not have had good chat if I'd turned up.
