both! I can bring a grill and a cooler if needed. And foods. posted by potch at 5:51 PM on June 24, 2009
Dang, this would have to coincide with Worldwide Photo Walk Day. I'll be wherever the party happens to be around 5pm-ish. Bonfire, it sounds like...? posted by nakedcodemonkey at 8:15 PM on June 29, 2009
probably both, but the beach bonfire for sure. posted by lapolla at 10:25 PM on July 3, 2009
Thanks for replying, everyone! I've acquired the necessary permits for our event, woo hoo.
With regards to what people can bring, I'm planning on bringing things for burgers, hotdogs (with condiments) and baked goods (along with plates, napkins and such). If people can bring beverages and any other food items, it'd be most appreciated! posted by blithecatpie at 11:03 AM on July 8, 2009
Most likely picnic, maybe bonfire. High possibility of one guest. posted by clorox at 3:20 PM on July 8, 2009
This is off the topic, but is anyone going from the East Bay? BART doesn't reach that far, which means taking the bus or something along the way, and it's kind of an inconvenience for me. If anyone is going from the East Bay and can spare me a ride, I'll be grateful. Of course, I'll pay for gas and whatnot if you wish, and will bring food.
Oh, and bonfire for sure, picnic a maybe/yes. posted by curagea at 8:20 PM on July 8, 2009
Who is bringing firewood? posted by pianomover at 8:20 PM on July 14, 2009
I'll try to bring some drinks. Do we have firewood? posted by galleypage at 1:53 AM on July 16, 2009
Bah, I can't make it. I hope this doesn't mess up logistics. posted by null terminated at 10:10 AM on July 16, 2009
galleypage, we do have someone bringing firewood, but, seriously, the more the better. Thanks!
Thanks for letting me know, null terminated. Another time! posted by blithecatpie at 11:32 AM on July 16, 2009
Picnic only, because I have a show to run in Berkeley at 8. Damn scheduling ahead... posted by spitefulcrow at 2:59 PM on July 16, 2009
Sorry for the last-minute response, but I'll probably be at both. Two of my non-mefite friends will join us for a bit during the bonfire. posted by theiconoclast31 at 3:24 PM on July 16, 2009
I'm planning on coming, but just to the bonfire. Unfortunately I can't RSVP electronically since I already RSVP'ed for the Mountain View meetup on Friday. posted by sarahnade at 4:47 PM on July 16, 2009
No problem, thank you all for letting me know! posted by blithecatpie at 4:55 PM on July 16, 2009
Planning on coming to the bonfire, with a smaller possibility of being at both. I'll try to bring beverages and snacks. Did we decide the if beach was technically/officially/really-serious-we-mean-it no alcohol / glass bottles in general?
Trash bags (ok, trash, recycling, and compost bags!) to clean up would be a Good Thing(tm). posted by zachlipton at 12:51 AM on July 17, 2009
I and a guest will be at the picnic. posted by Zed at 7:36 AM on July 17, 2009
Lies, lies, lies. A guest and I will be at the bonfire. posted by Zed at 9:55 AM on July 17, 2009
zachlipton, in my experience, so long as you're discreet about it (for example, drinking beer out of regular cups and keeping containers in your cooler) and don't cause any trouble, there's no problem. I'll leave that decision to the people attending... posted by blithecatpie at 12:19 PM on July 17, 2009
Picnic yes, but probably not bonfire posted by obloquy at 5:00 PM on July 17, 2009
